Why use the SGP.32 eSIM?For the best connectivity in combination with simplicity, flexibility and freedom, we use the SGP.32 eSIM. By default, this multi-network SIM or Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) SIM uses the KPN IoT network. But if you, for any reason, choose to work with another telecom provider, you can remotely load another profile on the eSIM. Via a simple management platform.
An edge router gives you the option to put specific software (a container) on your router that makes your camera smart. This means the router and camera will only send a video signal when a specific situation is in sight (like when a license plate is recognized). This saves data and the need for constant monitoring.
KPN IoT's eSIM for outdoor camera surveillance also works with other routers. But this might lead to additional operational costs, because it might lack the edge computing functionality. Also, cameras with built-in routers are often less stable than our Teltonika router. Therefore we advise to use a good quality camera and our certified Teltonika router with integrated SGP.32 eSIM all-in-one solution.
